About Me:

This page isn’t just about our company. That story is told throughout this website and across our social media. This page is simply to share who I am.

First and foremost, I am a follower of Jesus Christ. My faith in Him is the core of my identity and shapes every part of my life—how I lead, how I treat others, and how I navigate both success and adversity. I believe God owns it all, and I’m just a steward of the time, resources, and relationships He’s entrusted to me.

I’m also a husband, father, and grandfather. My wife Kim and I have been married for over 40 years. She is my greatest blessing and the love of my life. We’ve raised four incredible children (Ashley, Emily, Whitley, and Andrew) and have nine grandchildren (soon to be ten) who call us Nana and Pop Pop. One of the greatest honors of my life is that three of my grandchildren have been named after me—James (Jackson James, Surrey James, and Braxton James). My greatest joy is being surrounded by family. That’s what gives everything else in life its meaning.

In June 2024, I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma—an incurable blood cancer that attacks the bone marrow. At the time of diagnosis, it had taken over 80% of my bone marrow. The disease hit me fast. Just a few months earlier, Kim and I had been hiking together through the Swiss Alps. Then suddenly, I was in debilitating pain—my bones deteriorating, my strength fading, and at times barely able to walk. I went through chemotherapy, radiation, and an autologous stem cell transplant. It was the hardest battle I’ve ever faced—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

And yet, through that darkness, my faith only grew deeper. I came to know the presence of God in a more intimate and personal way than I ever had before. Today, I’m in remission. But this is a lifelong battle—a journey that continues day by day. I move forward with peace, purpose, and a renewed sense of what truly matters.

Remarkably, just before this chapter began, Kim and I were blessed with what I now know was a once-in-a-lifetime gift. We spent 62 days traveling through Europe—visiting nine countries and 46 cities, walking and hiking over 300 miles together. From the beauty of the Swiss Alps to the charm of Northern Italy, it was a dream fulfilled. I often reflect on how God gave us that time together—just before everything changed. If you’d like to see a glimpse of that experience, I invite you to watch the video above.

If you’ve taken the time to read this, thank you. Whether you’re a client, a friend, or simply curious about the person behind Georgia Classic Pool—I appreciate you. Life is short. Family is everything. And God is good.

My Professional Journey

Before founding Georgia Classic Pool in 2004, I spent nearly 20 years working for Domino’s Pizza at the corporate level, where I led operations in distribution, manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain across the Southeast. That experience shaped my understanding of leadership, process, and excellence. I learned how to build high-performing teams, manage complex systems, and uphold quality at every step.

In 2004, I stepped out in faith to build something special—Georgia Classic Pool. What began as a small operation has grown into one of Georgia’s most respected design/build outdoor living firms. Our reputation has been built on hard work, integrity, craftsmanship, and personal service. I’ve had the privilege of designing and overseeing countless high-end outdoor living projects, and each one reflects our team’s creativity and attention to detail.

One of my greatest passions is operations. I love being hands-on—working closely with our designers, understanding every project, and helping bring our clients’ visions to life. It’s never just about the pool; it’s about building lasting spaces that bring people together.

Today, Georgia Classic Pool continues to grow, but our purpose remains the same: to deliver exceptional work, honor our commitments, and treat each project like it’s our own home.

Key Responsibilities
As President and Founder of Georgia Classic Pool, I lead with a deep sense of purpose—shaped by my Christian faith, my love for family, and my journey as a cancer survivor. My role goes beyond business; it’s about building a legacy of excellence, trust, and meaningful relationships.

  • Vision & Leadership: I set the direction for our company with a focus on honoring God in how we work and serve others. I’m committed to leading a team that values integrity, quality, and craftsmanship.

  • Design Oversight: I stay personally involved in the design of many projects, ensuring that each outdoor living space reflects the client’s dreams and the high standards we are known for.

  • Client Relationships: I value relationships above transactions. My goal is to make every client feel heard, cared for, and confident in the process from start to finish.

  • Business Strategy: I manage company growth and long-term strategy with an eye on sustainability, innovation, and creating a positive impact in the lives of our clients and team.

  • Team Development: I mentor and empower our staff to pursue excellence, support one another, and take pride in the work we do together. We’re not just building pools—we’re building something greater.

  • Personal Mission: After facing cancer and experiencing God’s grace through that season, I view each day as a gift. I bring that gratitude into my leadership and strive to use my role to make a difference—for my family, our clients, and everyone we encounter.

  • Legacy Focus: My hope is that the work we do leaves a lasting impression—of beauty, craftsmanship, and faith-driven purpose—long after the final stone is set.
